When I first began writing and creating art, my reasoning behind it was to see if I actually could, if I had anything to say that folks might enjoy. I wanted to give something back to our community in appreciation of everything I myself had found beautiful.
No one was more surprised than me to find I actually got it right now and then, and to be able to give even this small thing, to bring someone a smile along the way was the greatest joy I could ever have imagined.
Somewhere along the way, though, my sense of self worth became inseparable from what I do, and too often, severe doubt crept in. I became too attached to the outcome.
There are people who have never failed to encourage me (you know who you are) and have literally kept me going when I wondered if what I was doing had deteriorated into nothing more than words or images on the page. For them, I will be forever thankful.
Above all things, I thank you for reading (and for looking at my art attempts) and I hope you will find something here that brightens a day that may otherwise not have been going so well.
